Matt and Andrew's Visit

Posted by Lauren on January 21, 2012 at 7:10 AM

Well!  We have certainly been keeping busy!  We have placed all of Shalu's data loggers, found An. stephensi larvae and adults, met our catchment area residents, been given tea and kisses, and much more!  Here are some pics!

I've said it once and I will say it again, Culex mosquitoes are gross! Above left spraying larval habitat with BT and right traditional habitat for Culex.

Shalu and Matt looking for Anopheles larvae.  We had just sampled from a very deep well and even so it was positive.

Traffic!

Andrew walking in front a a beautiful example of the kind of variation in house types.  A thatched roofed house is right next to a more sturdy house which is right next to a concrete apartment complex.  What are the temperatures in these and where are the mosquitoes?

Matt placing a data logger.  I hope I can get up there next week to download it!

Matt and Andrew sampling "local" cuisine (it was Indian Pizza Hut!)

My favorite!  Shalu sampling chocolate cake to celebrate finshing placing her data loggers!
